today

it was nice to enjoy a little time together as a whole family...meaning daddy included.
the day consisted of house-hunting, haircuts, playtime, and sweets.
the hunt for a house was not too sucessful, but fun nonetheless. the girls actually cooperated...for the most
part. the child i was worried about the most {riley} was a complete trooper and rarely made a sound.
in preparation for our upcoming family pictures {i am so excited about this one} the girls got haircuts, well hair trims. i was so proud of chloe who was very brave. this was her first time.
and of course, what's a saturday without a treat to end the day.

♥3 months♥

you are three months today!

you are a little chunk, we ♥ to call you pork chop

you found your voice and love to carry on conversations with everyone including yourself

you actually have a {tiny} attention span now

you are an incredible sleeper {nurse at 8pm and next again around 5am}
you went through sleep training much earlier than your sisters, but...
we put you down awake for naps and nightime sleep and you can self soothe...yea!!!
you have learned to take naps when you can {in stroller, carseat, crib, mommy's arms}
you love your paci, but only get in the evenings when mommy doesn't have an extra hand
you think singing and dancing with daddy is the best
you actually have a nap schedule {so happy about this one}
i don't think your feet have changed size since you were born, they are teeny tiny
if you are awake, you like to nurse every 2-3 hours
you can still fit into 3 month clothes, but 6 month fits you much better
you love your baths and get one every other day, otherwise you hair gets very greasy
your sisters adore you
you sleep swaddled and love it
you have found your hands and they are always in your mouth
you are totally a third child and are pretty easy going considering our hectic schedule

riley ann...we love you with all our hearts, what an incredible blessing you are

i feel like ella is growing up so fast right before my eyes.

every day learning something new.

such an incredible and loving big sister.

such a sweet an nurturing spirit.

where does time go?

today she completed her kindergarten readiness test.

she is ready and excited to start "real" school.

not so sure this mommy is ready for this next step...

tuesdays

tuesday.

a day me and the girls wouldn't mind skipping every once in awhile.

during barth's residency he had evening conference every tuesday.

this was on top of his late nights at work, and never-ending research projects.
residency lasted for five years.

we looked forward to graduation day knowing that these tuesday glitches would become a thing of the past.

graduation day came. fellowship began. new schedules came into play.
was i surprised to discover these so called tuesdays of the past followed us to usc.
we try to fill the long days with walks to the park, fun dinners & earlier bedtimes (4 mommy's sanity).
oh well, what's another year when you already got five under the belt?!

lucky for us this week we got grandma.
my mom is such an incredible blessing.
those long days & nights suddenly don't seem so bad.
the girls swallow up all of her attention and love.
thank you for all that you are to us. we ♥ u.

barth seems to be so busy these days.

of course this is nothing different than the norm.

it's just that some days and weeks can be worse than others.

during these periods the girls and i will take all the time we can get with daddy.

just so happens it has been one of those weeks...

thank goodness for skype.

bed buddies

the girls have been sharing a room for a few weeks now.

i must say i was a bit hesistant about the whole idea.

would they just stay up and talk, would they wake each other up, would they even sleep?!

the apprehensions just kept crowding my mind. they were doing so well in their own spaces.

then i kept remembering the days of sharing a room with my sister(s). i loved it. 

there was something so comforting about it, and of course fun. 

i still have clear, vivid memories of those days.

there was no need for two twin beds, we shared one. the bubble gum fiasco. & later the bunk beds. 

back to my girls. 

they LOVE it. 

both girls couldn't wait to be in each other's company at night. 

the move was in perfect timing with chloe's growing anxieties towards the smoke detector. 

but my most favorite part about it all comes each night when we close their door.  

"good night chloe, i love you"...."night ella, i love you".

melts my heart every time. my goodness i love those girls.

10 on 10 {april}

i decided to give this a try...taking a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours on the 10th of the month.
i really enjoyed it. thanks az! think i will keep it up. my day in 10 pictures...
