sports day..and other things to mention

today was sports day at preschool. 

chloe showed a little love for the boys up north. 

thanks poppa & pink gramma for the jersey. it came in handy for today♥

i feel like i haven't posted a picture of this girl in forever...

i took headshots of all the kids in ella's class yesterday. this was her's. 

a few things to date about this growing girl...

she is reading, i mean full on reading, like crazy. 

she now writes in paragraphs too. 

the other night i found a note on my desk. it read...

"thank you for all the food that you make us and thank you for the klos (clothes) you buy us."

talk about melt my heart. i love you sweet girl. 

on a side note...

check out who's taken up a little modeling in his free time...as if he has any.
barth is head of marketing for the ortho department.
he has been working with hospital and has had bracelets and shirts designed, and now coming to a billboard near you...

this was a real deal photo shoot. complete with a professional photog, make-up team, fake patient, fake nurse and completely staged.
and the doctor, well he is real but you would never guess it by this picture. i ♥ u babe.
another side note...this was a practice shot used to test the lighting. and i may have stolen it from my hubby's email.

tuesdays and thursdays are riley and mommy time...at least for a few hours.
i love our mornings together and my ability to give her lots of attention.
since turning one she has become quite the busy bee.
gone are the days of her being content sitting in a stroller or letting mommy hold her.
she now feels the constant need to explore the world around her and no one better stand in her way. this girl is on a mission.
if only i could baby proof this world around her...wouldn't that be nice.

you have such an incredible energy for life...that often times comes out in the form of heebie jeebies
you are a typical middle child just like your mama
you are sassy
you are able to switch from super sweet to super moody in a matter of seconds
you love to pray and sing worship songs with your whole heart
you like to pretend "preach" to all your toys
you have a deep concern for those that are hurting
you say the funniest and most random things usually at the most inopportune times
you love preschool and haven't cried at drop off for months
some of your favorite foods are mac n cheese, peanut butter & jelly, chicken nuggets, stir fry and anything with sugar in it
we like to call you the rabbit cause you often times skip the carbs and jump right into the veggies and protein
when we put you to bed at night you usually have to come out of your room at least once after we say goodnight
you are such a girl and already love to play with pretend makeup
your favorite pastime is brushing your dolly's hair and anyone else who will let you...which is not a pain free experience
you love to give compliments and they are usually to random people in passing
you start soccer in less than 2 weeks
you seem to think that after you get old you will then become a baby again, this is very confusing to you
you love to tell me that you love us, but you love Jesus just a little bit more...this make my heart so happy

the jonah project

we received our first family project from chloe's teacher.

the assignment was to create something using the story of jonah and the whale. 

the only requirement was to include a picture of chloe within the project.

here is what we came up with.... 

the entire family was involved, but i think barth and i had the most fun. bring on the projects!

pretty little lady

there has been a whole lot of this going on the last couple days....

had you asked chloe what was on her birthday list, among the laundry list she would have presented to you, you surely would have found princess makeup at the top.
being the loving mommy i am i went to great lengths to somehow persuade her that this so called makeup wasn't something she really wanted.
maybe it was the mess i knew it would make, or the color palettes that are always a flash back to the 80's {think banana yellow, or shocking pink, or screaming purple}.
whatever the reasons i just wasn't a fan.
leave it to the auntie and grandma to make every wish their command.
she is now the proud owner of every princessy makeup thing available...seriously.
as messy as it truly is, it sure has been entertaining.

ps...to my sister, you know that it won't be long before ariana is in need of a little makeup herself. just saying♥

chloe's sweet shoppe

today was all things sweet.
chloe will be turning 4 in a week. this morning when she woke up she said, "this is the bestest birthday ever...of my entire life!"
oh how i love her.

i am amazed every day by how much ella is learning and growing.
we are so thankful that we have the ability to send her to such an incredible school with God front and center.
