meet miss ainsley.

this was my first opportunity to take newborn photos. i went in with the assumption that she would snooze away while i snapped away. she had other plans!
this little girl was wide-eyed most of our time together and looked as though she was just taking it all in.
nonetheless she is such a sweet baby and so beautiful.
even better she is baby girl number three in her family. i love it.

party time♥

a bit behind on posting lately.
we had chloe's party last weekend. i still can't believe she is 5.
a quick little story...i wanted to buy shoes for her birthday so i took her shopping a week before her party. she tried on a size nine. fit perfectly with a little room to grow. let's get them! "hold on mama....these like totally fit me right now, but you know i am going to turn five on sunday and i think it would be best if we got a 10 since my feet are going to be a different size on my birthday...."
oh my sweet chloe i love u so much. i hope you never quit saying the cutest darn things.

 you can bet there was plenty of this stuff around. she had her first piece before 9am and by bedtime she must have chewed a few packs worth.

 the babies were loving the cake. they quite enjoyed this spot. right next to the cake for much of the evening.

 thanks papa and grandma. ready for the cruise now!

 besties. they really are. its pretty much the cutest thing.

five.

happy birthday chloe!! 

you are five today. 

you have been waiting for this day for forever. literally. 

you have been more excited to celebrate this birthday than any other so far. 

hope you enjoy your day sweet girl. 

you have the most animated personality and you can see it from a mile away. 

there is no shortage of spunky in that little body of yours. 

you say the most random things to whoever, whenever, wherever. 

you love to eat oatmeal in the mornings. apple and cinnamon is your favorite.

on the subject of eating. you take forever. i think it's because you get so distracted by every little thing.

you are our prayer warrior and sometimes completely blow us away with the words that come out of your mouth. 

you love your sisters and are an amazing big sister to riley. 

you don't mind at all that your baby sis calls you "doh doh"

your favorite flavor of ice cream is vanilla. 

you are a very spiritual person and love to daily remind us that Jesus is all around us.

you love school and are known as the "teacher's biggest helper".

you can gangnam style like no one else. must be the korean blood in you. 

i love your smile. it lights up an entire room.    

you love to play let's pretend. 

you are a girly girl. you could play with make-up and dress up all day long if we let you. 

you still sleep with your blankie "poncho". 

you have grown so much in the last year. no longer are you are anxious little girl. your confidence is infectious.

you have a compassionate heart. 

my sweet chloe, what a tremendous blessing you are to us. you bring so much joy to our lives each and every day. you truly are a gift from above. we love you dawnie girl♥ 

the magic number

my dear sweet chloe your excitement just can't be contained this week as your birthday approaches.

and it's not just any birthday. 

its number 5.

in your sweet little mind this is the magic age, the age to be.

the age where you suddenly get to do lots of big girl stuff. 

on the top of that list...getting to chew gum. 

since you can't read yet i can guarantee you that there will be lots of gum on your special day. 

i ♥ u. 

and one more thing...quit growing up so fast!

sleeping beauty

i sent chloe to her room after lunch today.
i will spare the details of why, but the mess that resulted required a time out.
i went in ready to give her a stern talk of why we need to listen and obey when mommy says something.
looks like someone was tired.

sweet & sassy

i feel like i haven't had much time to blog or take pictures lately.
life is busy. it's a good busy.
we are a couple weeks into soccer and i am so thankful that it has begun to warm up around here. evening practices can get quite chilly. we have ella's first game on saturday. i can't wait to root for the supergirls in their bubblegum pink uniforms this season. perfect right?
barth is crazy busy at work. people need to stop breaking their bones. or at least stop using skill saws, or "unskilled" saws as the doctors like to call them.
i finally took a leap of faith and began a bible study in our home for the wives of all the orthopedic doctors. i am completely blown away by the way God is moving already. thank you Lord for this opportunity.
we are just 10 short days away from miss chloe's 5th birthday. she can't wait and has chosen an under the sea theme. i see a photo op coming on!
and riley. well let's just say she is oh so sweet and oh so sassy these days. with a little more emphasis on the sassy.
i snapped a few pictures of her today. my addiction to taking pictures has been satisfied....at least for the day.

our special guest

we got to share this afternoon with someone who is so near and dear to our hearts.
almost 10 years ago our dear friend married barth and i.
over the years he has been such a blessing to us. always willing to lend an ear and to help gently guide us.
it was extra special to introduce him to our three girls. they attached to him as if they had know him their entire lives. it was so sweet to see.
thank you Pastor dean for your love and prayers over the last 10 years. you hold such a special place in our hearts.
