trick or treat

the day began very early this morning...too early in my opinion.
i had two very excited little girls who just couldn't sleep any longer. nevermind that it was barely 6 o'clock.
the day was filled with lots and lots of treats, and not just the candy type.
ella and chloe were treated to an early morning breakfast with grandma at starbucks. then it was off to visit grandpa at work...there was no shortage of candy there. next stop, daddy's work. the girls were beyond thrilled to show off their costumes. they turned out to be quite a hit at barth's clinic.

i am still not sure who had more fun...barth or the girls. i have my guess.

getting pretty

it's been a crazy week here in our house.
daddy has been on call for seven days straight. needless to say we haven't seen him a whole lot.
i have been doing my best to keep the girls busy and to keep their minds off of daddy. they miss him.
the girls were way overdue for a haircut and what's more fun {and a good distraction} then getting pretty?

it's fall in california.
there is just nothing like it.
signs of autumn are all around and yet the sun still manages to make it's presence known.
you can feel the crisp in the air.
today was a perfect day to enjoy it.

the girls always have the best time ever with barth.
he can get a bit crazy with them. my mother would attest to this.
we all just have to close our eyes sometimes.

a birthday...times 2

we are back from a weekend in san diego.

both jasmine and simone have birthdays in october so we had a little joint celebration.

typically i am crazy camera girl taking non stop pictures of all the happenings, i wasn't so good about it this time.

oh well, i still got a couple fun ones to commemorate the day.

a little side note...kuddos to wade who did a little decorating and cake planning for his mrs....

grandparents day

friday was grandparent's day at ella's school.

she had been preparing for weeks. she made sure to inform me that it was top secret.

she did well keeping it a surprise...her own mama didn't even know about her little solo, i know i couldn't believe it myself.

the morning of the big event grandma picked her up and and took her to school. she was ecstatic.

this was a "no parents allowed" day. ella loved the three hours of grandma and grandpa all to herself.

and her special part in the song? let's just say there wasn't even an ounce of shyness in her even with an entire gymansium full of grandparents...

♥9 months♥

you are 9 months today!!

you are a mover.
you can crawl extremely well and usually to places you are not supposed to be.
you are pulling up on everything {see pictures}
you are very vocal and make all sorts of noises.
you blow raspberries all day long, literally.
we lowered your crib to lowest setting due to your new ability to stand
your favorite word is "mama" and you sure know how to use it. it is the sweetest sound ever.
you love to eat. lots of baby food, but starting to eat big people food. you love it.
you have gotten so many bruises since starting to crawl, one just last night right in time for our pictures.
you got mommy all to yourself this past weekend while we travelled to oregon. you did amazing.
you can wave and sometimes will say an occasional "buh bye"
you are usually extremely happy and smiley but are sure to let us know when you are hungry or tired.
you still have just two teeth, but will chew on anything and everything so there must be more coming.
you are handling mommy's intake of dairy very well. mommy is so happy about this.
you are still nursing pretty often. all it takes is the word "num num" and nothing better stand in the way of you and mommy.
when daddy got home from work last night you crawled as fast as your little legs would let you to the door to greet him. it was the sweetest thing.
your sisters love you so much and you love them right back.
you are still the sweetest most easy going baby ever.

a nature walk

the girls and i went for a walk this afternoon.

chloe's assignment for school was to collect things that were significant of fall and to observe God's beauty. 

it was the perfect day for it. 

i attempted as best as i could to capture it with my camera, while balancing riley in the baby bjorn. yes, she has exceeded the weight limit. 

we found some lovely examples of autumn and goose egg to go with it....
