sunday funday

it's back to the grind tomorrow.
i was starting to love the leisure mornings and having all three of my girls at home.
a few highlights of our last day of spring break...an early morning breakfast at starbucks, a little shopping, a surprise trip to see the lorax in 3d, dinner cooked by daddy and some frozen yogurt to top it all off.
it was a perfect day.

purplicious♥

another saturday, another soccer game.
it has been unusually cold here in southern california.
we had the first game of the day and it was a whopping 46 degrees outside. very cold for us sun lovers.
nevertheless, the game must go on.
ella played very well today. she was focused and went after the ball like never before.
it was really exciting to watch, so much so that her daddy just couldn't contain those infamous heebie jeebies.
i took a few photos before and after the game...the only time i wasn't toting around a 20 something pound baby in the bjorn.

this is one very proud daddy.

me and my girls. riley is literally spilling out of this bjorn. i know i can't be the only one who still highly depends on this clever contraption...despite my aching back...az? anyone?

snacks. it really is the best part of the entire game day. i think these kids depend on them.

go purplicious!!

dynamo

ella is on spring break this week.
it has been so nice not to have to rush out of the house each morning.
getting myself and three girls ready can become quite the task.

we are still managing to stay busy with our extra curricular activities.
much to barth's liking, soccer has completely taken over our tuesday and thursday evenings.
from 4:30 till bedtime i get to be soccer mom.
ella is having a great season. their team has already played a total of 6 games and have lost only one. go purplicious!!
chloe is just starting her season. she has more of a love/hate relationship with the sport.
one minute she will be giggling up and down the field, the next she will be in tears. oh chloe i love you.

here she is...go dynamo!

here is one of her pouty moments...

and here is the flipside...

alyssa♥

i did a two year photo session this weekend.
i get so nervous before i start shooting. like butterflies in my stomach nervous.
i guess the nerves stem from my desire to hopefully capture moments that clearly portray the unique personality of who ever i am photographing.
my hope is that with each photo my confidence level will grow to match the passion i have for taking pictures..or at least come close.

meet alyssa.
we met for the first time right before the session.
she was a little ham, so adorable and rarely sat still for more than a couple seconds. my goodness she was busy!
happy birthday sweet girl♥

here are a few of my favorites...

movie night

i think we have started a new post-call tradition.
it is always nice to give the girls something to look forward to in the midst of a crazy call week.
and a crazy call week it was.
just to mention a few of the casualties...a hand nearly cut in half by a skill, or as the surgeons call it, an "unskilled" saw, a newborn with a septic shoulder, a mother-in-law who tried to bite off her son-in-law's finger and a man who cut off his own hand with a kitchen knife and that's only a taste of his week.
the girls didn't see daddy too much, but were counting down the days till the following weekend.
we started off the night with a movie and popcorn. tangled was the featured film. any surprise there?
barth built the girls a crazy fort (his specialty) and they camped out downstairs for the night.
he for some reason thought it wasn't enough that they got to have a slumber party and informed me that we would be camping out as well.
it sounded fun, but our cozy bed sounded much more comfortable.
we entertained the idea of sleeping in our own bed and setting our alarm at 5am to sneak down before they awoke.
we didn't want to miss out on all the fun. we slumber partied the night away...nevermind the fact that we got to sleep on the blow up mattress. at least we participated right?
{it was pretty intense movie}

{popcorn time}
