the getaway {insta style}

i love this app.
i admit it has become a bit of an addiction for me.
but sometimes its just so hard to pull out that big camera, especially when it is just two of you and asking completely strangers to take photos of you to document the trip is not an option. at least not in my mind.
so here it is. our trip insta style.
{happy anniversary}

{let's fly away...}

{the great northwest}

{a race car? yes please.}

{spending the day with my bestie}

{an addiction}

{windows down, sun shining, wind blown hair...perfect}

{proposal point. i would say yes all over again}

{cream cheese ice cream. i think so.}

{so in love with you}

{missing our girls. guess it's time to go home}

{mr. cranky pants stuck in the middle seat. again.}

{happy to be back}

{10}

10 years.
i can't believe how fast the time has gone by.
i feel so blessed to say that i am more in love with barth than i was a decade ago.
he is my best friend, my biggest fan, my better half, my soulmate, the daddy to my three precious girls, an amazing man of God.
not one day goes by that i don't thank my heavenly Father for bringing him into my life.

we are back from an amazing weekend getaway to the great northwest.
it was the perfect surprise.
i couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. the salish lodge & spa at snoqualmie falls.
it is where he proposed. i got a romantic guy on my hands.
here are a few snapshots of our trip...

the lovely car we got to drive. an upgrade from the car rental cause it was our anniversary. looks like a senior photo shoot right?

 i can neither deny nor confirm that we frequented this place more than once during our quick trip. i crave this fast food more than i should.

so a little story behind the dress i am wearing. when barth proposed i was wearing a black dress. being the romantic guy he is, he went shopping all on his own and found me this cute little black number to recreate that incredible day eleven years ago. so cute right?
 perfect weather the entire time. very unwashington like.
barth...
thank you for the past 10 years. they have been incredible. even the hardest days are bright just cause i get to share them with you. i am so madly in love with you. i can't wait for what God has in store for us in the many years to come. i love you to the moon and back.
love, your baby

good bye {first grade}

school's out!
good bye early morning wake ups, 5 minute breakfasts, rushing out the door, drop off here, drop off there...
...hello long summer days, swimsuits, popsicles, staying up late, all my girls home...
i love it.

and i love this girl and am so proud of her.
good bye 1st grade, hello 2nd grade!

my pride, my joy & my happiness.

and here is a comparison.
picture number one was taken the first day of school.
picture number two today.
why do they have to grow up?!

"happy to you"

my girls were just a bit excited about my birthday, especially riley.
she kept asking, "mommy happy to you?!" for days.
i guess this excitement might have something to do with the fact that bdays in our home typically involve tons of cousin time and no shortage of sugar. i am mostly to blame for that last part.
i truly had no expectations for my birthday this year as we are in the midst of a call week and schedules are busier than ever.
my family never ceases to amaze me. my goodness i am a blessed lady.
barth planned a great day and my parents, sisters and their families were all around to celebrate.
i seriously have the most incredible peeps in my life.

best ♥ buds

my apologies for the long absence. it has been quite silent here on the blog.
not to worry we are still here. busy as always. loving life. looking forward to the lazy days of summer.
until then i will make a better effort of posting the happenings.

this past week miss chloe enjoyed a day of play with her best bud mr. beaver.
it is a double win whenever these two get together as i love spending time with his mama.
these two cutie pies planned out their play date to a t. from what they would do to what was on the menu for lunch. it was all chloe could talk about in the days leading up to this event.
i must say i am very interested to see how their friendship evolves. they start kinder together next fall.
nonetheless we are so grateful for the friendships we have been blessed with. so grateful.

 this little nugget was more than happy to tag along.
