just reminiscing...

three.

happy birthday baby girl!!!!
you are three today.

a little about my baby...

you are a complete mommy's girl and i LOVE it.
you are a typical child number three...independent, go with the flow, live in the car, receiver of the hand-me-downs...
you are potty trained and have been for quite sometime now.
you are obsessed with babies. you already have a deep love for your cousin who is yet to enter this world.
your favorite foods for the moment...sammich (pb&j), cereal in a bag, chicken nuggets, gogurt, anything with sugar as the main ingredient
you sleep in a big girl bed, as of two weeks ago. i know, we were a little late on that one.
speaking of big girl bed, i don't think you realize you can get out by yourself. i am so okay with that.
you have a love/hate relationship with bandaids. you beg for one and then peel it off as soon as it makes contact with your skin.
you pick your scabs all the time. daddy may have threatened to put your arm in a cast at one point cause you wouldn't stop.
you love to sing and dance all day long. currently it's to anything from the movie frozen.
you would live in your elsa costume if we let you.
you love to be carried, everywhere.
when you ride in a shopping cart you always have to sit sideways with your feet hanging off the side of the cart.
you love your dates to starbucks with grandma and always order chocolate milk in a box with a petite vanilla scone.
you get embarrassed easily.
you love me to hold your feet.
my favorite riley phrase..."i love you so much mommy..."
you sleep with your blankie, sheepy, kitty cat, and shrek baby every night.
naps are a hit and miss these days.
you have this thing where you have to know what our schedule is for the entire day. you ask, "what are we doing mommy, what are we doing next, what are we doing next..." until we reach bedtime.
you love "Jesus music" and request your favorite artists by name.
you love Jesus and are very much aware that He watches everything you do, including your meltdowns, which you agree make Him very sad.
when you are being disciplined you shout at the the top of your lungs, "i wanna be a good girl!!". we know you do baby girl, but it doesn't get you off the hook.

oh riley i love you so much. i am finding it very hard to accept the fact that you are three. just remember that you will always be mama's baby. you are a joy, a complete gift from above and i treasure you with all my heart♥

singing her heart out..."let it go"

coming soon...

this may be the one event that i am the most excited about in 2014.
no longer will it be the fab five, but the sassy six.
that's right my baby sis is gonna have her first baby come march! yay! and did i mention it's a girl???!!!
we are tad bit excited around here.
i was lucky to snap a picture and help design their announcement...

catch up time

i am finding it very difficult to blog these days...and i know why.
my type a self is a bit overwhelmed at the fact that i am so far behind that i simply don't know where to begin.
furthermore my big girl camera is in need of a good dusting, meaning i need to get my act together and start snapping some pictures.
here is to 2014 resolutions.

for now i will play catch up with some pictures from 2013.

first up, christmas card pictures.
these were kind of a last minute ordeal.
i had hoped to get some family photos taken for this year's card (meaning me included) and that just didn't pan out.
so i headed out, camera in hand, with my three little chickadees to an amazing park in san diego.
my girls were not so much cooperative. they were extremely distracted by the massive amounts of people who decided to take their pictures (last minute like me) and they just didn't feel like picture taking was in their agenda for that day.
too bad. haha.
i took them anyway. here are a few favs...

The great northwest

there has been a long pause over here in blog land.
it's the combination of keeping busy and not being my usual crazy picture lady self to blame.
i MISS my camera and my "i have to picture document everything" self. okay, so maybe i was a bit crazy before, but i really do miss it.
to my faithful blog viewers, i am going to try to be better.

over thanksgiving we took a little trip up to washington.
it was wonderful to get away, no schedule, no pager, no super early mornings...
just tons and tons of family time.
believe it or not my camera was with me, but i wasn't so great about actually using it. seems to be a trend huh?
on a more positive note, i loved being able to soak in every second with my family and not worry about capturing every moment.
here are the moments i "snapped"....

travel day!
the girls love this part. and after haven flown 13+ hours overseas this summer, it made this journey a piece of cake.
as you will see in all of these pictures my girls are either matching or at least coordinating. i just love.
further more, they don't seem to have an opinion yet and it is super easy to keep track of them this way. it's a win win really.

one wanted to give a kiss, the other didn't want it. this happens a lot in our house.

mr. moo. chloe's kindergarten class mascot.
he was fortunate, or should i say we were fortunate to have him with us the entire trip.

a requirement on every trip to washington, a stop off at taco time. don't mind my minor obsession with this place. we ate their only twice, i could have done it a lot more.

next up a ferry ride to canada where we spent a little early christmas with family from barth's side. the girls loved it.
a little photo session with chloe and mr. moo...

and here is the ride back...told you i must have missed some things.

we had the most beautiful weather during our stay. very un-pnw style. blue skies, sunshine and a crispiness in the air.

a few tidbits worth documenting.
we got to visit a few friends and some of my family one day. always so much fun.

we love visits to our dear friend dean curry, kinda fun that he married us too. the girls just love him.

next up....washington insta-style!
