Star student of the week!!

Miss Ella was chosen to be student of the week at preschool. Part of her week includes putting a poster of all things "ella" on the classroom wall. I put this little display together the night before, having to consolidate with way too many pictures and things to say about my precious Ella. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you baby....

Puddle jumping

Barth's sister and her kiddos were with us this week. We had been anxiously awaiting their arrival with a list of things we hoped to accomplish before their departure (fun things of course). Coming from Washington, we were hoping, as I am sure they were, to shower them with lots of much needed sunshine. The weather had other plans. It decided to bring in some of the worst rains we have had in years...a decade to be exact. Oh well...when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!

"i like it"....

This has become Chloe's favorite thing to say these days. She will walk around and point to things...a chair, daddy's shirt, a picture, a shoe, a rock you name it..."I like it mommy". I remember these days with Ella, everyday she has something new to share..little reminders that she is getting bigger.

I enjoy being a girl!

Ella & Chloe have found a new favorite activity...trying on all of mommy's shoes. Chloe has a pair on as I am typing this post. They have actually become quite good at walking around in them. Poor daddy, it can get a little overwhelming with all these girls!

Ready...set...go!

The weather this last week was incredible! We were reaching temperatures close to the 80's everyday..perfect weather for a morning jog. I get quite the workout pushing these girls up the hill...

They especially love the end of the jog...playtime at the park

Orthopedic widow...a.k.a Ortho Wife

These were the words a lady once used to describe my soon-to-be life over five years ago...my how time flies!!

Well, it has not been the easiest of paths, but it has noneless been an amazing one...okay so it is not over just yet, but the end really is in sight. Barth will be completing his fifth year of his orthopedic residency in June and then we are on to USC!! Go Trojans!!
Why all this talk of my life as a medical spouse? Last night we hosted (our second time) 40 med-students who are all applying to get into an orthopedic residency program...it is a nervewracking and nail-biting situation to be in, to say the least. I totally felt for all these guys (1 girl) last night.  It took me back to all the emotions and unknown that Barth and I faced as a couple not so long ago. I felt like I was playing the game of 50-questions last night, trying my best to give them my advice and perspective into the lifestyle that we all face as medical families. Each day has been taken, or least attempted, in stride making the best of each rotation. Looking back it has been the best five years of my life cause I gained the most incredible little girls a mommy could ever ask for.

The "sea" of shoes in my livingroom last night

We now look forward to the move in July/August to the South Pasadena area. It will be another adventure I am sure as Barth's fellowship lasts just for a year, and then we will move once again to our final resting place(still unknown)...at least for awhile this time! Thank you for all your prayers!!

A favorite pastime...

A trip to Starbucks...the girls love to hang out at the coffee shop. They have their own special drink which they have rightfully named "candy milk"...short milk with two pumps vanilla. Yes, they have started early. Okay, so we don't do it all the time, but it really is a fun treat for Ella and Chloe.

Ella with her purse...she takes this everywhere (contents: lipstick case w/mirror and 2 chapsticks)

Not even two yet, but already a Starbucks junkie
