it's all greek to me

next stop, athens.
greece is beautiful, enriched with history and incredible sights. the more opportunities i have to travel overseas the more i realize how young our country is.
massive ruins sat atop a mountain and it blew my mind to think of how difficult it must have been to haul each stone, not to mention the intricate carvings, all done by hand.
the highlights for this stop...the first olympic stadium, the acropolis and mars hill.

the first olympic stadium...it was not huge as you might imagine.

this is the restaurant we ate at. the local guide recommended it. barth claims that it is the best gyro he has ever tasted. when it comes to food, he is a pretty good critique....

these fans came in handy the entire trip. the temperatures were very similar to southern california during the summer months, however the humidity was so high you immediately felt drenched as soon as you stepped off the boat.
