kusadasi, turkey {ephesus}

and the journey continues into western turkey.
ephesus was visited by apostle paul and it is also believed that the gospel of john may have been written here.
it was incredible to see the sights and walk the streets that we read about in the Bible. so surreal.


among the rubble was this stone carving of the goddess nike
 this bug was huge. it looks like a small grasshopper, but it was much much bigger....

 the public toilets of the city are still standing. in the middle of this bath house was a large open pool. you had to pay a small fee to use them. no privacy here.

 the celsus library dates back to 117 a.d.
the theater where apostle paul once preached...
